What Make the Gas explosion so bad. If they turn the Gas flow off. When the pipeline is going through a town that close to Houses the Gas companies should have Cut off ever mile or so. to stop the gas flowing.The valves needs to be cut off on both sides of the trouble. There should a way to cut the off the gas quickly. The same goes for oil pipeline.
The reason the Fire got so hot is their was gas coming out off the pipeline under pressure from both directions.
The number 2 reason for the valve is the gas lost can never be replace.
BP did the same thing wasted all of that oil that can never be replace. BP Proved they could have stopped
the flow three months sooner. It seems BP has bad management. this may be the problem with BG&E Don't
they run out of electric in California. Until till the State paid their bills it cleared up over night. they connected their grid the the nation's grid.

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Pacific Gas and Electric Co. said Monday it was establishing a $100 million fund for victims of a huge gas pipeline explosion that left at least four people dead and destroyed 37 homes.

It would have been nice if they had spent the money to upgraded the pipeline. If they had no one would have died or lost their homes. This may cost PG&E more in the long run.
